Choosing a church is one of the most important decisions you'll make. It shapes your friendships, your faith, and often your family for years. Here's how to do it well in Bloemfontein.
Five things a healthy church has
- The Bible, clearly taught. Not opinions with proof-texts. Real Scripture, honestly handled.
- Real community outside Sunday. If everything is a stage, you'll never be known. Look for cell groups, home groups, or small groups.
- Room for the Holy Spirit. Not hype — space for God to actually meet people.
- Safe kids' ministry. Vetted volunteers, secure check-in, transparent policies.
- Transparency with money. Giving is worship, not pressure. A healthy church tells you where the money goes.
Give it three to six Sundays
First impressions can mislead — a great worship band on week one doesn't mean deep discipleship on week fifty. Give a church three to six Sundays before deciding. Meet the pastors. Join a cell group. Watch how the church handles the ordinary week.
Questions worth asking
- What do you actually believe? (See our Statement of Faith.)
- How do people get discipled here?
- How are kids kept safe?
- Where does the giving go?
- Who is accountable for the leadership?
Come and see REIGN
