Teaching

Giving under grace.

At REIGN Church we give from the finished work of Jesus, never to earn it. Generosity is the overflow of a heart that already knows it is blessed, righteous and deeply loved.

Tithing under Grace

  • Genesis 14:18-20

Abraham tithed to Melchizedek — a priest-king with no beginning of days — 430 years before the Law. Tithing began as a response of faith and honour, not a rule of obligation.

  • Hebrews 7:8

"Here mortal men receive tithes, but there He receives them, of whom it is witnessed that He lives." Under the New Covenant we do not tithe to a system; we give to a living Saviour.

  • Malachi 3:10

The heart of the promise is an open heaven and a God who delights to pour out. Grace does not lower the standard of generosity — it raises the motive from fear to faith.

Tithing under grace is not a payment to avoid a curse — Jesus already redeemed us from the curse (Galatians 3:13). It is a joyful acknowledgement that everything we have came from Him first. We teach the tithe as a starting line of generosity, given freely, never under compulsion or condemnation.

Already Blessed to Be a Blessing

  • Ephesians 1:3

"Blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ." You do not give to get blessed — you give because you already are.

  • Genesis 12:2

"I will bless you… and you shall be a blessing." Blessing was always meant to flow through, not stop with, the one who receives it.

  • 2 Corinthians 8:9

"Though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich." The exchange at the cross is the source of all New Covenant generosity.

Grace giving starts from fullness, not lack. When you know you are already blessed in Christ, giving stops being a loss and becomes a release. We are conduits of God's supply into a city and a world that needs Him.

Stewardship under the New Covenant

  • 1 Corinthians 4:2

"It is required in stewards that one be found faithful." A steward manages what belongs to Another.

  • Luke 16:10-11

Faithfulness with money is the training ground for true riches — spiritual authority and Kingdom trust.

  • 1 Timothy 6:17-19

God "gives us richly all things to enjoy" — and calls us to be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share.

Stewardship is not stinginess; it is faithfulness. We handle money with wisdom, integrity and accountability as a church, and we disciple believers to do the same at home — free from debt-driven anxiety and free from the love of money.

Cheerful Giving

  • 2 Corinthians 9:7

"So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver."

  • 2 Corinthians 9:8

"God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work."

  • Acts 20:35

"It is more blessed to give than to receive." Joy is the evidence that giving has come from grace and not from pressure.

There is no manipulation, guilt or pressure in this house. Give what you purpose in your heart — cheerfully, freely, and in faith. If you cannot give with joy, hold it until your heart catches up with God's goodness.

Partnering with the Gospel — Eternal Impact

  • Philippians 1:5

Paul thanks the Philippians "for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now." Giving is partnership, not charity.

  • Philippians 4:17

"Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account." Your giving earns eternal fruit in the lives it reaches.

  • Matthew 6:20

"Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven." Money is temporary; souls are eternal. Generosity converts the temporary into the everlasting.

When you give to REIGN Church, you are partnering with the Gospel of Grace going out — people born again, believers baptised, families discipled, and Christ's reign extending across Bloemfontein and the nations. Every rand becomes a name, and every name is eternal.

Thank you for partnering with us. Every gift matters.
